The Intelect® RPW 2 brings the next generation ofshockwave therapy to the treatment room usingRadial Pressure Wave technology. Designed toactivate connective tissue from the surface level todifficult-to-reach pathologies, the new Intelect® RPW2 is a modality for addressing pain and inflammationin orthopaedic conditions.*Chattanooga Intelect® RPW 2 can provide clinicianswith an effective and efficient platform that can assistin activating connective tissue with difficult to reachpathologies 2, 3, 4, 5 while helping to reduce wear andtear on the clinician’s hands and arms.
EASE OF USE -Incorporating high resolution touch screentechnology, the Intelect® RPW 2 was created withease of use for the clinician in mind. The clinicalprotocols library provides a visual anatomical andpathological library as well as treatment guidelinesto aid the clinician in providing effective treatmentsfor a large range of pathologies. The ChattanoogaIntelect® Connect App provides a seamless transitionof patient data from the device to the PC, allowingthe clinician to produce reports and to share patientdata across other Chattanooga devices. Built withease of use in mind, the Intelect® RPW 2 includes thenew ergonomic Falcon® Handpiece and convenientstorage placement of device accessories.

PATIENT COMFORT -Featuring the new Falcon® Handpiece and treatmenttransmitters, the Intelect® RPW 2 is equipped witha broader range of bar pressures to help assist inpatient comfort during treatment. Chattanooga’sproprietary ‘Comfort Mode’ provides an automaticenergy ramp up, to help create a more comfortabletreatment experience for the patient.
TARGETED PAIN RELIEF -The Intelect® RPW 2 allows for the treatment of indications with radial, pneumatically-generated, low-energy acoustic waves, or ‘pressure pulses’.The applied pressure pulse propagates radially within the tissue, generating a therapeutic effect.The V-ACTOR® HF optional hand piece allows mechanical vibration, for high frequency vibration massage.

Common painful conditions that can be treated by Radial Pressure Wave (RPW) therapy to help reduce pain, increase blood flow,and activate connective tissue in the affected area.*
Myofascial Trigger Points (MTrP) - Localizing and Deactivating Trigger Points
• Triggers are localized at the low energy level (approximately 2 bar) by passing the transmitter over the muscle regionbeing treated (increased sensitivity to pain) and then deactivated using a higher energy level (approximately 3 bar).
Activation of Muscle and Connective Tissue - Increasing Circulation
• Promotes blood flow through the tissue and boosting metabolism.
Pulse Vibration Massage:
• Soothing relief from muscle strain and stress.
Disorders of Tendon Insertions - Plantar Fasciitis, Heel Pain, or Heel Spur
• Plantar Fasciitis is an inflammatory condition of the foot caused by excessive wear to the plantar facia that supports the arch
Tendinosis Calcarea/Supraspinatus-Tendon - Shoulder calcifications and chronic shoulder pain
Radial and Ulnar Humeral Epicondylitis - Tennis elbow, inflammation of tendon attachments on cubital or radial part of elbow joint (humeral)
Achillodynia - Pain due to inflammation of the Achilles tendon or the bursa associated with it.
Retropatellar Pain Syndrome - Pain in the front of, behind, and around the kneecap.
Tibial Edge Syndrome - Pain located along or just behind the medial edge of the tibia
Proximal Iliotibial band Friction Syndrome/Trochanteric Insertion Tendonitis - Pain or aching on the outer side of the knee or hip

RECOMMENDED TREATMENT GUIDELINES:
- LOCALIZE THE PAINFUL AREAS YOU PLAN TO TREAT
- SELECT MOST APPROPRIATE TRANSMITTERS BASED ON TREATMENT GOAL AND TARGETED TISSUE
- APPLY ULTRA SOUND WATER BASED GEL ON THE SKIN OVERLYING THE TREATMENT AREA
- ALWAYS START WITH LOWER LEVEL OF INTENSITY
- PERFORM A POST-TREATMENT TEST TO SEE FOR BETTER FUNCTION AND DECREASED IN PAIN
As a result of clinical evidence, most treatment protocols are based on 5 to 10 sessions of 1,500-2,500 shocks.
